Relevant Team Experience · Interpretation and Language Services

National Interpretation and Workforce Platform

A large-scale operational platform connecting customers, interpreters, coordinators, administrators, and supporting services across the complete interpretation-booking lifecycle.

The platform brought booking requests, interpreter assignment, live coordination, customer and workforce access, notifications, and administrative workflows into one connected digital environment.

This anonymized example reflects relevant delivery experience contributed by members of our engineering team. Some or all of the work was completed before NexJeel was established. It is presented to demonstrate relevant technical and domain experience and should not be interpreted as a project contracted directly with NexJeel.

Interpretation & Language Services

The Operational Challenge

Interpretation bookings involve more than selecting a language and a time. Each request can include customer requirements, location or delivery method, interpreter eligibility, availability, assignment rules, schedule changes, notifications, service completion, and financial processing.

When these activities are spread across disconnected tools or manual communication, operations teams have limited visibility into booking status, interpreter availability, changes, cancellations, and responsibilities. Customers and interpreters also need different experiences while working with the same underlying booking.

The central challenge was to support this complete operational lifecycle in one dependable platform without losing the flexibility required by different customers, users, and interpretation scenarios.

The solution

The Platform

The solution provided a shared operational foundation for customers, interpreters, coordinators, administrators, and supporting teams. It connected the booking lifecycle with assignment workflows, user communication, live operational information, administrative controls, and downstream processes.

Customers could create and manage requests through appropriate digital channels. Interpreters could review relevant assignments and interact with their work. Operations teams gained centralized visibility and tools for coordinating bookings, exceptions, and changing circumstances.

The architecture supported separate user experiences while keeping booking information, status changes, responsibilities, and business rules connected through shared services and controlled APIs.

Capabilities

Key Capabilities

Booking and Order Management

Capture interpretation requests, service details, scheduling information, delivery preferences, and customer-specific requirements in a structured workflow.

Interpreter Matching and Assignment

Support rules-based matching, assignment workflows, interpreter availability, offers, responses, and operational coordination.

Customer and Interpreter Portals

Provide role-appropriate experiences for customers managing bookings and interpreters managing relevant assignments, schedules, and activity.

Real-Time Operations

Support time-sensitive communication, live status changes, operational visibility, and real-time features where immediate updates are important.

Notifications and Communication

Coordinate booking confirmations, reminders, changes, cancellations, and other important updates through connected communication channels.

Location and Route Coordination

Support location-aware workflows and route information where interpretation services require physical attendance and travel coordination.

Administrative Workflows

Give operations teams tools for reviewing bookings, handling exceptions, managing users, and maintaining visibility across active and completed work.

Financial Workflows

Connect completed services with relevant invoicing, compensation, and financial administration processes.

Operational workflow

From interpretation request to operational completion

  1. Request created

A customer submits the interpretation requirement, schedule, location or delivery method, language, and relevant service details.

  2. Requirements evaluated

The platform applies relevant operational rules and prepares the request for matching or coordinator review.

  3. Interpreter coordinated

Eligible interpreters can be identified, contacted, offered the assignment, or selected through the appropriate workflow.

  4. Booking managed

Customers, interpreters, and operations teams receive relevant status information, notifications, and schedule updates.

  5. Service completed

Completion information and related operational records are captured for follow-up and administration.

  6. Administrative closure

Relevant financial, reporting, feedback, or supporting processes can continue using the completed booking information.

Architecture & engineering

Engineering Considerations

The platform used a modular application approach connecting web experiences, APIs, business services, data storage, background processing, real-time communication, and external integrations.

Different user groups required separate authentication and interaction journeys while continuing to work with the same operational booking lifecycle. Controlled APIs and shared services helped keep these journeys connected.

Because the platform supported ongoing business operations, modernization needed to be incremental. Existing capabilities could be improved or replaced in phases while protecting operational continuity and limiting unnecessary migration risk.
